Next, visit the 1735-founded Munroe Tavern. The fleeing Redcoats received reinforcements from Boston and used the tavern as a field hospital after Lexington and Concord. This Lexington eatery served President Washington in 1789.
Munroe Tavern has a small but charming Colonial-style garden, typical of Boston during the Revolution, with flowers available to a gardener of that time.

Lexington offers outdoor fun. Two Lexington public courses, Pine Meadows and Stone Meadow Golf have driving ranges. Each facility provides PGA-taught golf.
After a Ride Studio Café iced coffee, stop by Petra, a fashionable neighborhood boutique. More souvenir shops are nearby. MA France Gourmet, a Bordeaux-founded French grocery store, sells authentic French cuisine. Artistry on the Green serves seared scallops tonight.
